CoI 8: The Misfortunes part 3.

Ember gasped in horror at the idea. "No..." she stammered. "There has to be another way!"
The jeweler sighed. "There may be, but nobody has ever managed it before..." He spoke. "Lets put it like this: The last person to wear that ring, cut off his own toe, before jumping off the cliffs of Dover..."
"W-why?"
"Because, he lived a great life until he found that ring. He was a tailor in an English village; back in the early 1900s, despite dragon segregation, he was highly respected. That is, until he found the ring, then one of his nurses gave a patient suffering with flu the wrong drugs, and he died. This caused people to loose faith in the dragon, and he went broke. Later, a racist family of gumans moved into the village, and a young girl, who was taught better than what she did but was an attention seeking little monster, one day ran out into the street crying, saying a dragon had tried to rape her."
"Oh, oh my god..." Ember gasped.
"She didn't expect what was going to happen. The whole village rallied against this dragon, and chased him to the cliffs, where he cut of his toe to free himself from the ring, before killing himself..." The jeweler sighed again. "Later, the girl admitted she had lied about the rape allegations, and it was discovered that it was a nurse, not the doctor himself, which gave the wrong drugs, both clearing his name. There is now a memorial to the dragon outside the village 'to the dragon who was misjudged' it reads."
"So... All I have to do is get this ring off, and everything will go back to normal?" She asked. And he nodded.
"But how!? And I can't cut my own toe off! I just can't!"
"Ok, I understand. Look..." He reproduce the book. "I'll look around, and hunt down some kind of magic that will undo the binding effects of the ring. It will take a while though, so be careful in the meantime."
"ok, thank you..." Ember spoke, as she was shown out...
